Frequently Asked Questions
About the rings
Yes, we insist on only working with solid wood because we believe this is the only way any wood can show its truly beautiful colors and patterns.
Yes, each ring is handmade. Some of our cores are pre-made to decrease the time of delivery, but everything else is made by hand.
Contrary to bentwood rings, solid wood rings show the real beauty and diversity of any wood, because the angle of its fibers are different throughout the entire ring. This makes every solid wood ring truly unique and naturally beautiful.
Any and all. We have experimented with dozens of types of woods and we have chosen the best of them, but we are always experimenting new ones to add to the already extensive list of options.
Stabilized woods are vacuumed in a special type of resin that fills the voids of softer woods. This procedure not only strengthens any wood, which is sometimes required to make a piece of wood workable, but it is also possible to color the wood all the way through making it even more special.
Durability & Care
All rings, except the raw ones, are reinforced by durable materials and the wood inlay is protected by a completely waterproof coating. This is as durable as they can get.
Simple solid wood rings are not very durable, of course. They break easily and their color will definitely change over time. If you would like to order a simple wood ring, we recommend maximizing its width which will decrease the chance of it breaking.
The best you can do is minimize its contact with water as much as you can, and try to avoid any strong hits on it. There isn't really much else you can do. Non-waterproof wood rings will definitely change over time, which can be one of the beauties of wood rings from a certain perspective.
These rings are reinforced and the wood inlay is protected by a completely waterproof coating. This is as durable as a wood ring can get, and fortunately, we never had any problems with these types of ring. Theoratically they should last a lifetime, but the coating will have to be refinished every couple of years.

In this case your best bet will be to measure your own ring size and guess based on that. Your estimation will be more accurate this way. We offer free exchange for this exact reason, so if the ring size turned out to be wrong, just let us know and we will make a new one for free.

Materials
All our stainless steel cores are made out of high quality surgical steel, so they are hypoallergenic. They are lightweight so they are a great choice for a ring. Surgical steel does not rust but they do scratch easily.
Ceramic rings are not made of the typical craft ceramic. Instead they are made of basically titanium carbide, making them extremely durable and highly scratch resistent. We offer black and white ceramic cores for reinforcement. Contrary to black tungsten carbide, black ceramic rings do not fade, but they are more brittle than tungsten. They are also a great choice for a ring due to their light weight and comfort. Ceramic rings are also hypoallergenic.
Tungsten Carbide is our most durable material for reinforcement. They are virtually totally scratch resistent so they will keep their shine for a lifetime. Tungsten carbide is also hypoallergenic, but they are heavy, especially the wider types.
